Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Is the 3.5 mm-to-2.5 mm audio cable definitely in the Smoked Pearl box?
Bose's exact collaboration page provides two conflicting fields: its 'What's in the box' list includes the cable, while its technical specification says 'Audio cable included: No'. The received package was not inspected, so the in-box cable status is unknown. Verify the exact retail kit or have a compatible cable ready before purchase.
Explore this need in the finder →Can ANC work while I use analog cable audio?
Bose's QCUH2 Owner's Guide documents powered 3.5 mm analog audio with the headphones on; the Quiet mode can provide ANC in that powered arrangement. This does not resolve whether the special Smoked Pearl package includes the cable. If the battery is depleted, the guide says to connect USB-C power and then switch the headphones on.
Explore this need in the finder →Can a phone and laptop stay connected at once?
The QCUH2 guide documents up to two active Bluetooth connections and six saved devices, while playing one audio stream at a time. Use the Bose app if you want to manage or disable multipoint. The exact collaboration item uses the QCUH2 second-generation model family, but Bose's product page does not separately list a Bluetooth version or codec set for this color variant.
Explore this need in the finder →Bose × Thom Browne · exact U.S. Smoked Pearl variant · document-based assessment
The Bose × Thom Browne QuietComfort Ultra Headphones (2nd Gen) are a separately listed collaboration, not a standard Black finish. Bose's selected Smoked Pearl product record identifies QCUH2-HEADPHONEARN-TMBN-SMPRL-WW and item 890101-1100. That exact page makes the product identity clear, but it does not settle two practical purchase questions: its box list includes an analog cable while a separate technical field says no, and its campaign copy says cashmere ear cushions while the spec table says protein leather. Those contradictions matter more than the decorative collaboration name if cable inclusion or fabric composition is essential. I have not handled or tested this edition.
A distinct item, not a finish shortcut
The manufacturer page presents the headphones in Smoked Pearl, with Thom Browne's striped and grosgrain styling. The exact item variant is different from standard QCUH2 Black and from Bose's KidSuper art variants, so a generic search title or mismatched photo is not enough to identify the retail unit. Bose describes the same second-generation QCUH2 functions—active noise cancellation, Immersive Audio, Cinema mode and USB-C audio—but the separate collaboration appearance and disputed material/package fields warrant an independent review. The image below is Bose's exact selected Smoked Pearl image; it shows the styling, not proof of cushion fiber or box contents.

What the official product page does and does not settle
Bose's technical table identifies an around-ear fit, removable cushions, built-in microphones, active noise cancellation, a 30-hour maximum battery life, a three-hour charge time, USB-C charging and a 0.583-pound (about 264-gram) headphone weight. Its promotional content says that heather-grey cashmere is used for the cushions, while the technical “Ear Cushion Material” row says Protein Leather. Neither field explains the difference. I treat the precise cushion material as unresolved rather than choosing the more attractive description or relying on the photograph. Personal comfort, heat, glasses fit and long-session pressure also remain individual questions that a specification cannot answer.
The cable inclusion conflict needs a real package check
On the exact Smoked Pearl page, “What's in the box” lists a 3.5 mm-to-2.5 mm audio cable. The separate “Audio cable included” specification says No. That is a direct conflict, not a reason to assume either a hidden bundle change or a free accessory. No physical carton was inspected and the QCUH2 manual's ordinary package list cannot settle this collaboration-specific page conflict. If analog cable audio matters, confirm the exact retailer kit or obtain the compatible cable separately before relying on it. The page does list a carry case, 39-inch USB-C-to-USB-C cable and safety sheet; the USB-C cable is a different item from the analog audio cable.
Use modes are not interchangeable
For this QCUH2 generation, Bose's mode guide documents Quiet mode for full cancellation, Aware mode for listening to the surroundings, and custom modes managed through the Bose app. ActiveSense in Aware can automatically adjust cancellation as the environment changes; Bose's mode description is not an independently measured noise-reduction result. Its product page advertises up to 30 hours with Immersive Audio off and 23 hours with it on. Those are manufacturer maximums under selected use conditions, not a promise of actual travel time. Bose's page does not separately give an ANC-off maximum for this collaboration, so this review does not assign one.
Bluetooth and wired operating plans
Bose describes Bluetooth audio on the exact collaboration page. The QCUH2 Owner's Guide for this second-generation model family says up to six devices can be saved and two can stay connected, with one audio stream playing at a time. Multipoint can support a phone-and-computer routine, but does not mix their audio; pause one source and start the other. The collaboration product page does not list a specific Bluetooth version or codec set in its technical table, so those details are not presented here as independently confirmed for the Smoked Pearl SKU.
The 3.5 mm analog route connects a source to the headphones' 2.5 mm port, and Bose's guide requires the headphones to be switched on. ANC is not available when they are powered off, and the guide does not document passive battery-free listening. Calls, the headphone microphone and media controls are also unavailable in AUX mode. If battery power is depleted, Bose says to provide USB-C power and then turn the headphones on. USB-C audio is another, digital route: Bose's product FAQ documents 16-bit, 44.1 or 48 kHz USB audio from compatible source material and use while charging. Check that your host device supports USB audio; a USB-C-shaped port alone does not establish compatibility.
Who should shortlist the collaboration
The documented fit is a buyer who wants second-generation Bose ANC and connection options alongside the separate Thom Browne design, and who is willing to verify the exact package and material before committing. It is not the cleanest choice if a known cashmere cushion or a guaranteed included analog cable is essential: the primary product page itself is inconsistent on both. It is also not a match for passive cable playback with the headphone switched off. Before buying, confirm the exact Smoked Pearl item code, ask the seller for a package-specific answer about the audio cable, verify the cushion material, check USB audio compatibility and read the current return terms. Style and manufacturer's feature descriptions do not establish superior sound, comfort or cancellation in a listener's own environment.
