Wired listening: powered, passive and digital are not the same

“Wired” can mean analog cable audio, digital USB audio, charging while wearing, or passive playback after power is off. Those functions are not interchangeable. Check the exact input and the maker's instructions for each arrangement you care about.

Analog cable with the headphone powered on

Some wireless headphones accept a 3.5 mm analog cable while the headset is powered. The powered arrangement may retain ANC, ambient sound, equalization or other processing, but the exact functions vary. Check whether Bluetooth is disabled when the cable is attached, whether microphone calls work as expected, and whether playback controls move to the source device. The Sony WH-1000XM6 manual documents this powered analog route: with its supplied headphone cable connected and the headset on, the wearer can use noise cancellation. Bluetooth is unavailable in that cable mode. Sony also cautions to use the supplied cable and seat the plug fully. The Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones (2nd Gen) take another powered route. Their U.S. product page lists an included 3.5 mm-to-2.5 mm cable, and the Bose Owner's Guide requires the headphones on. In AUX mode, calls, the headset microphone and headset media controls are disabled, so check that the source can handle playback controls. If the Bose battery is depleted, the manual directs the user to connect USB-C power and then turn the headphones on. It does not support passive cable playback with the headset off.

Analog cable with the headphone off

Passive playback can be a useful fallback if a battery is empty or the headphone cannot be powered. But active noise cancellation depends on operating electronics; in a passive power-off mode, ANC is usually unavailable. Confirm that the particular manual supports audio with the unit off instead of assuming that a headphone jack makes the device passive. For the WH-1000XM6, Sony states that cable listening works with the set turned off but that noise cancellation cannot be used. The set therefore supports both powered wired ANC and battery-free analog audio, but not ANC and battery-free playback at once. That is why separate connection and power facts should be matched together as one plan. By contrast, Bose's QuietComfort Ultra Headphones (2nd Gen) guide requires power even for the included analog cable. A 3.5 mm jack alone does not establish that a drained headphone can play passively. If battery-free playback matters, verify an explicit power-off instruction for the exact model instead of inferring it from a cable in the box. The two standard Bose QuietComfort generations also differ in this respect. The QuietComfort Headphones (2nd Gen) guide requires the headphones on for the supplied USB-C-to-3.5 mm source cable. Bose's guide describes USB-C external power as a way to continue powered USB audio after depletion; it does not document a passive power-off analog path. The exact product page's contents list names the cable, although one technical field says no audio cable is included, so confirm the offered package. The earlier QuietComfort Headphones guide, model 437310, describes a different cable: 2.5 mm at the headphone and 3.5 mm at the source. Bose explicitly allows playback with the headphones off or battery-depleted, but ANC and Active EQ are unavailable in that passive state and the headset controls are disabled. Keep these behaviors attached to their separate generation names and model numbers; do not transfer the older model's passive route to the newer one.

USB-C charging is not necessarily USB-C audio

USB-C describes a connector, not a guaranteed signal path. A port might charge the battery, carry digital audio, or do both. Look for an explicit audio-input specification and instructions for USB audio. A charging cable listed in the box should not be counted as a digital listening cable unless the manufacturer says that it carries audio. For the WH-1000XM6, Sony's US specifications list a stereo mini-jack audio input and a USB charging method; its guide describes the Type-C connection as a charging port. This assessment therefore does not count USB-C as a confirmed audio input. That is a careful limit on what the consulted sources establish, not a reason to generalize about every other headphone. For the QuietComfort Ultra Headphones (2nd Gen), Bose's U.S. product page documents USB-C digital audio: compatible source files may be received at 16-bit, 44.1 or 48 kHz. The Owner's Guide says the headset must be powered on, and that it can continue to operate while charging, including with a depleted battery connected to external USB-C power. Check that the source actually supports USB audio; a charge-only port or cable on another product is not equivalent. The standard QuietComfort Headphones (2nd Gen) also add USB-C digital input; Bose lists up to 24-bit/48 kHz and the guide describes use while connected to power. That is distinct from the 2023 QuietComfort Headphones, whose USB-C port is for charging and which use their separate 2.5 mm-to-3.5 mm analog cable for wired audio. Connector shape alone does not identify the signal path.

Check the source and package

Before buying, identify the exact source jack, any airplane adapter requirement, cable length and whether the relevant cable is included. Confirm your laptop or phone can provide the required analog or digital signal. If calls matter, verify which microphone is active in each wired arrangement. A three-pole audio cable, a charging cable and a USB audio interface can look similar at a glance while serving different functions.

When an analog source is required

With earlier references left out, 56 configurations in this reviewed library document an analog 3.5 mm audio plan.

The standard Black JBL Tour One M3 has a documented 3.5 mm analog path with the headset powered and ANC controls available; no cable ANC duration or empty-battery passive playback is established. Its 40-hour claim is Bluetooth-only. The Blue Live 670NC documents powered cable ANC and a distinct passive power-off audio state. Earlier, the JR 460NC shows a powered cable ANC mode but not confirmed battery-flat playback; the Tour One M2 documents both powered ANC and power-off passive audio; and the Tune 760NC has an included cable whose ANC and power-off behavior are not established. An analog match alone therefore does not guarantee the same powered, passive or ANC features.

This refers to the headphone's analog audio path, not USB-C digital audio or charging. Apple documents 3.5 mm input on AirPods Max 2 through a separate USB-C-to-3.5 mm audio cable that is not in the box; its current support instructions do not establish analog ANC or battery-free playback. The Beats Studio Pro has an included 3.5 mm cable and a separate battery-free analog plan, but the consulted sources do not establish ANC on that analog route. A cable route can still need battery power for ANC or processing, and an exact package may vary. The White MOMENTUM 4/BTD 700 set has separate powered and passive M4 analog plans, while the Black MOMENTUM 5/BTD 700 set has a powered M5 analog route and unresolved passive behavior; neither set page confirms its exact analog cable inventory. For other generations and modes, compare the 2023-generation Bose QuietComfort, Bose QuietComfort Ultra (2nd Gen), and Sony WH-1000XM6 assessments.

Find all reviewed configurations with documented 3.5 mm analog audio.

JBL's current-reference Live 460NC, Tune 670NC, and earlier Tune 660NC each have a documented 3.5 mm analog audio route. Those routes differ: Live 460NC has wired ANC controls but no published cable ANC runtime; Tune 670NC has a separate powered AUX-plus-ANC rating of up to 30 hours but no documented passive fallback; Tune 660NC is rated up to 35 hours for powered AUX with ANC and separately supports battery-depleted passive playback without ANC. Select the intended state rather than treating cable audio as one uniform mode.

The Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S2e, Px7 S3, original Px8, standard Px8 S2 and distinct Px8 S2 McLaren Edition each document the supplied USB-C-to-3.5 mm analog route. The manuals require sufficient charge and power-on for these arrangements; the McLaren edition uses the Px8 S2 manual under an explicit shared-platform bridge. Their reviews do not claim passive battery-free playback or a cable ANC runtime, so do not transfer the wireless ANC specification to the analog route.

Focal also documents a supplied 3.5 mm Jack route on Bathys and Bathys MG. Focal says the switch must be ON for that route, so it is not battery-free passive listening; ANC is not explicitly confirmed for this analog plan. Their respective 30-hour figures are Bluetooth ANC ceilings and should not be applied to Jack operation.

The JBL Live 770NC, Tour One M3 Smart Tx, and standard Black Tour One M3 guides show a powered wired-listening mode with ANC controls, so the assessments include documented analog-plus-ANC arrangements. Neither gives that cable mode an ANC runtime, and neither confirms passive audio when its battery is empty. The Smart Tx's separate transmitter accepts analog source input and sends audio wirelessly; that transmitter workflow is not the same as a direct wired headphone connection.

The JBL Tune 780NC is another documented analog-plus-ANC arrangement: its included USB-C-to-3.5 mm cable and quick-start diagram establish wired listening with ANC controls. JBL does not publish cable-mode ANC endurance or confirm passive power-off playback. The 50-hour figure belongs only to its direct Bluetooth ANC plan.

The on-ear Tune 680NC and Live 680NC each have an included analog lead and a manual diagram showing ANC controls in powered wired listening. JBL does not rate the cable mode or confirm power-off passive playback on either model; neither inherits its 50-hour Bluetooth ANC figure over the cable. See the same analog-source finder for the complete current-only set.

The Technics EAH-A1000-K is a distinct powered analog-plus-ANC arrangement: its supplied USB-C-to-3.5 mm cable is rated approximately 30 hours with ANC on, and Panasonic instructs the listener to power the headset. The 45-hour AAC/SBC Bluetooth and 40-hour LDAC/LC3 ratings do not transfer to this cable mode; the manual does not document passive audio after power-off or battery depletion.

Three more JBL analog cases have different answers: the Live 780NC guide shows wired ANC controls without a separate cable runtime; the Live 660NC Personalized offer's 3.5 mm lead is explicitly described as continuing music after battery depletion; and Tune 770NC plus Junior 470NC include analog cables without documented wired ANC or passive playback. Quantum ONE accepts 3.5 mm analog audio, but JBL limits its ANC to the separate USB route. Use the same analog-source finder condition rather than treating the cables as equivalent.

The Philips TAH8000BK/37 manual documents its included 3.5 mm cable for powered analog ANC when the headset is charged, plus a separate cable-playback state when its battery is depleted. No analog ANC runtime is published, so its 50-hour Bluetooth ANC rating does not satisfy a cable-runtime minimum. The TAH6509BK/00 is also counted for an analog audio path, but Philips' sheet disagrees with the cable's 3.5 mm plug on the headphone-side jack size; the manual does not confirm powered cable ANC or passive playback. Check the exact lead/adapter before purchase.

The Shure AONIC 50 Gen 2 Black includes a 2.5 mm-to-3.5 mm analog lead. Shure says its on-headphone DSP settings persist regardless of source connection and documents ANC controls, which supports powered analog ANC as an inference rather than a direct mode-specific statement. The manual does not confirm passive audio after power-off or battery depletion; the general 45-hour figure is not an analog ANC runtime. The same-condition analog finder contains its analog plan.

The Technics EAH-A800-K also has a supplied 3.5 mm audio cord. Panasonic's manual confirms ordinary passive playback when the headset is powered off or depleted, but does not establish ANC over that cable; keep those operating states distinct.

The Jet Black soundcore Space One Pro (A3062Z11) is another analog-audio configuration. Its A3062 guide says the 3.5 mm AUX input turns Bluetooth off while ANC or Transparency can still be selected at the NC button. Cable-mode ANC runtime, AUX lead inclusion and passive playback with power off remain unconfirmed; see the same analog-only finder condition.

The U.S. soundcore Space 2 Pro D1406Z11 documents a 3.5 mm AUX input, powered ANC/Transparency controls while cabled and a separate passive power-off audio state. Its model support says calls are not available through the audio-only lead and publishes no powered cable ANC runtime; its USB-C port is for charging, not audio. Check the exact source and package, then use the same analog finder condition.

The distinct Space 2 D1402Z11 also has a documented 3.5 mm AUX audio input, with ANC/Transparency available when the headphones are powered. Soundcore publishes no cable-mode ANC runtime and does not confirm power-off passive playback for D1402; verify the exact analog lead and seller package. See the Space 2 assessment and same analog finder condition.

The Black soundcore Q30 A3028013 has a 3.5 mm AUX route, but soundcore explicitly says ANC is unavailable on AUX. The A3028 manual confirms wired audio without establishing power-off passive playback; check the exact package and use the same analog finder condition.

The Black soundcore Life Q20 A3025015 also documents 3.5 mm AUX audio. Its A3025 manual says ANC turns off on cable, while a same-model soundcore FAQ confirms wired listening after battery depletion; that region-qualified evidence does not establish U.S. package contents. Compare the same analog-source finder.

The Q20i A3004Z11 and Q31i D1404Z11 also document 3.5 mm AUX audio. Both disable ANC on that route; Q31i's instructions support playback with the headset powered off, while Q20i's passive behavior remains unknown. Check exact lead/package contents and use the same analog-source finder.

Include earlier references when a documented analog input is enough

Include earlier references for an analog-only search if you want to consider the Brown first-generation AONIC 50 among 77 documented analog configurations; its 3.5 mm input is documented, but ANC over cable and passive power-off playback are not.

The U.S.-launched SBH2350 is a separate model from the AONIC 50 Gen 2 and has a distinct 3.5 mm wired plan. This connection-only match does not establish a present seller offer, the exact U.S. retail suffix, an in-box lead or ANC in that wired arrangement. Compare the Brown first-generation AONIC 50 with the earlier AONIC 40 (SBH2240), then verify the exact seller package before relying on either cable route.

An earlier-inclusive analog search also keeps current references: the Technics EAH-A800-K documents a supplied 3.5 mm cable, but only passive playback with power off or depleted is confirmed; powered cable ANC is not established.

The current-reference Technics EAH-A1000-K also belongs in this earlier-inclusive analog-only result through its powered analog audio route. Its supplied USB-C-to-3.5 mm cable can carry audio, but ANC is separately rated and the manual requires power-on; passive battery-free listening is not established. Use the same earlier-inclusive analog finder.

The earlier Technics EAH-F70N also has an analog listening route: the U.S. manual allows the supplied cord for normal playback when the unit is off or depleted. That passive plan has no ANC; verify the exact seller model and cord because the legacy U.S. page provides no retail SKU or current offer. Find the same earlier-inclusive analog set.

Apple's distinct 2024 AirPods Max 1 (USB-C), model A3184, adds another earlier-inclusive analog-only candidate: Apple documents an optional USB-C-to-3.5 mm Audio Cable for an analog source. This establishes a source connection, not ANC on the cable or playback with the headset powered off; those behaviors remain unknown. Read the AirPods Max 1 USB-C review and use the same earlier-inclusive analog finder; do not count it for the analog-plus-ANC or battery-free combinations.

The 2020 AirPods Max 1 (Lightning), model A2096, is another earlier-inclusive analog-only candidate. Apple documents a separate Lightning-to-3.5 mm Audio Cable for wired analog audio; it is not the Lightning-to-USB-C charging cable listed in the box. The instructions reviewed do not establish ANC during cable listening, an analog ANC runtime or powered-off passive playback, so its 20-hour Bluetooth ANC maximum does not transfer to this mode. Confirm that a seller supplies the exact analog cable if you need it and use the same earlier-inclusive analog finder.

Find earlier-inclusive configurations with a documented 3.5 mm analog input.

JBL's current-reference Live 460NC and Tune 670NC add two analog-audio configurations, and earlier Tune 660NC adds a third when older models are included. The earlier CLUB ONE is a fourth, with powered AUX ANC rated separately at 25 hours. Its battery-depleted behavior is unknown, unlike models with an explicit passive fallback. Their exact U.S. finishes and cable contents still need an offer-level check; these JBL models have distinct ANC and power-off behavior rather than one interchangeable “wired” mode. Use the same earlier-inclusive analog finder.

The current-reference Space 2 Pro D1406Z11 remains in the earlier-inclusive analog search as well: its 3.5 mm input supports both a powered mode and separately documented passive playback when off. Use the same earlier-inclusive analog finder.

The distinct current-reference Space 2 D1402Z11 also appears in the earlier-inclusive analog-only result through its model-specific 3.5 mm audio input. Its powered ANC and power-off passive states remain separate, with passive playback unconfirmed; use the same earlier-inclusive analog finder.

The current-reference soundcore Q30 A3028013 remains included in this earlier-inclusive analog-only search through its documented 3.5 mm AUX audio; ANC over AUX and passive power-off playback are not established. Read the Q30 assessment and use the same earlier-inclusive analog finder.

The current-reference Life Q20 A3025 is also included in this earlier-inclusive analog result through AUX audio; its passive battery-depleted fallback is model-level evidence from a regional A3025 FAQ, and ANC turns off on the cable. Use the same earlier-inclusive analog finder.

The exact current-reference Q20i A3004Z11 and Q31i D1404Z11 add two more distinct AUX configurations. Q20i does not have confirmed passive power-off behavior; Q31i's documented passive AUX state is separate from ANC. Use the same earlier-inclusive analog-only finder.

The earlier-inclusive analog-only search now contains 76 reviewed configurations, including current-reference Technics EAH-A1000-K and soundcore Q20i A3004Z11 and Q31i D1404Z11 through their documented analog inputs. The earlier EAH-F70N adds a passive power-off route, while its ANC remains a separate Bluetooth plan. The earlier U.S. Space Q45 A3040 also documents AUX audio, but its manual does not establish whether playback continues with power off or battery depleted. Likewise, CLUB ONE's supplied cable has no confirmed battery-empty fallback. Confirm the exact lead and seller package, then use the same earlier-inclusive analog finder.

The earlier JBL CLUB 950NC Refurbished has documented analog audio through the listed AUX cable. Its source documents do not establish battery-free playback, so analog support alone should not be read as passive capability. Use the same earlier-inclusive analog finder.

Battery-free cable listening is a separate requirement

For passive analog fallback with the headphone powered off, 21 configurations in this reviewed library document playback without battery power; that arrangement does not provide ANC. The Beats Studio Pro belongs in this result because Apple confirms its included 3.5 mm cable plays without requiring battery power. The JBL Live 660NC Personalized listing also explicitly says music continues over its detachable cable after battery depletion; that is a passive state, not powered analog ANC. The Live 460NC likewise has an explicit battery-flat cable playback claim, distinct from its wired ANC controls. The Blue Live 670NC and earlier Tour One M2 also document power-off cable playback, but in each case ANC is off and no passive runtime is rated. The Tune 680NC and Live 680NC manuals show powered wired listening but do not establish passive power-off audio, so neither is counted for this requirement. The Philips TAH8000BK/37 manual likewise allows cable listening when the battery is depleted; it is a separate passive state, not the powered cable ANC arrangement. The current U.S. Technics EAH-A800-K manual also documents normal analog playback with the headset powered off or depleted; that passive route does not provide ANC. The Life Q20 A3025 is included through its official A3025 battery-depleted wired FAQ, a model-level regional bridge; its manual still places ANC off in AUX mode. The TAH6509 cable power-off behavior is not documented and remains outside this set. The MOMENTUM 5/BTD 700 set is not counted as passive: its manual and current support FAQ conflict about empty-battery cable listening, so check the set assessment and do not rely on battery-free playback without clarification.

The Technics EAH-A1000-K is deliberately not included in this passive set: Panasonic's analog-cable instructions require power-on, including for the powered ANC arrangement. Its approximately 30-hour wired ANC rating is not evidence of battery-free playback. Use the same passive-playback finder.

The MOMENTUM 4 headset in the BTD 700 set documents passive analog playback, but cable inclusion for that exact set is unconfirmed. The connector alone is not proof of passive playback. The 2023-generation Bose QuietComfort, Sennheiser ACCENTUM Plus Wireless, and Sony WH-1000XM6 have documented powered-off cable arrangements, but check the exact cable in the package and the controls or processing unavailable when power is off. A passive arrangement should not be treated as an ANC mode.

The MOMENTUM 4 headset in the BTD 700 set documents passive analog playback, but cable inclusion for that exact set is unconfirmed. Apple's AirPods Max 2 is the reverse caution: Apple documents a separate analog cable route but not listening with the headphone powered off.

The separate Px8 S2 McLaren Edition is not another passive-playback match: the Px8 S2 manual requires charge and power-on for analog audio and does not confirm a power-off route. Its 30-hour ANC maximum belongs to wireless listening; it cannot answer a battery-free cable request.

Neither the JBL Live 770NC, Tour One M3 Smart Tx, nor standard Black Tour One M3 is included in this battery-free result: JBL shows powered cable listening and ANC controls but does not establish passive playback with an empty battery.

The JBL Tune 780NC is excluded for the same evidence reason: its wired-listening guide shows ANC controls, but the consulted source material does not establish passive playback with the headphone powered off.

The Shure AONIC 50 Gen 2 includes an analog cable, but its reviewed manual does not confirm playback with the headphone off or its battery depleted. An analog jack alone is not evidence of passive battery-free audio, so Shure is not included in the same-condition battery-free finder.

The soundcore Space One Pro is also excluded from this passive-playback set: its guide confirms 3.5 mm audio and selectable wired ANC, but does not say that audio continues with the headset off or depleted. That unresolved power state is not a positive battery-free match; use the same battery-free finder condition.

Find every reviewed configuration with confirmed passive power-off playback.

The Space 2 Pro D1406Z11 also documents audio over the 3.5 mm lead with the headset powered off. That is passive playback only: ANC and Transparency require power and are not available in the battery-free arrangement. See the same battery-free finder.

The soundcore Q30 A3028013 is excluded because the A3028 manuals document AUX audio but do not confirm playback with power off or a depleted battery. An input jack does not prove passive fallback; see the same battery-free finder condition.

The U.S. Q31i D1404Z11 adds a supported passive AUX plan when the headset is powered off; ANC is unavailable in that state, and the exact cable package remains an offer-level check. The distinct Q20i A3004Z11 has AUX but no reviewed source confirms depleted-battery playback, so it is not counted. Read the Q31i and Q20i assessments and use the same battery-free finder.

Combine analog input with power-off playback

When both analog cable audio and powered-off playback are essential, 21 current-only reviewed configurations document a passive 3.5 mm arrangement that meets both conditions. The M5/BTD 700 set is excluded because its manufacturer sources conflict on passive analog use; its separate powered analog ANC path is not the same condition.

The same compatibility limit applies to each: passive audio can be a battery-depleted fallback, but it is not active noise cancellation. Apple's AirPods Max 2 has an analog route but is not in this result because Apple's current instructions do not establish power-off playback; that is an evidence gap, not a claim that it cannot play passively. The Beats Studio Pro is a current example whose included 3.5 mm cable is documented to play without headphone battery power. The MOMENTUM 4/BTD 700 set review documents passive playback and leaves its in-box cable uncertain. Review the 2023-generation Bose QuietComfort, ACCENTUM Plus Wireless, WH-1000XM6, or MOMENTUM 4 and BTD 700 set and verify the included cable for the exact U.S. version.

The JBL Live 660NC Personalized listing is another included passive 3.5 mm plan: JBL says music can continue when the battery is depleted. That is separate from its 40-hour Bluetooth ANC-on maximum; the battery-free arrangement does not support ANC. Verify the cable and custom-order terms in the exact offer.

The current-reference Live 460NC also fits the passive analog condition because JBL explicitly says its detachable-cable playback continues with a flat battery. This does not establish ANC in the unpowered state. The current-reference Blue Live 670NC also has a QSG-documented power-off passive state, and the earlier Black Tour One M2 is a separate passive-cable example. These are not ANC states. With earlier references enabled, 30 reviewed configurations meet the analog-plus-power-off requirement. The earlier Tune 660NC has a separate battery-depleted cable fallback too, but use the earlier-inclusive analog-plus-passive finder when including that older model.

The Philips TAH8000BK/37 manual also documents cable playback with the battery depleted, separately from powered analog ANC. No ANC is assigned to that passive arrangement. The TAH6509BK/00 remains outside this candidate set because Philips does not document its power-off cable behavior and the cable/jack connection needs verification.

The Technics EAH-A800-K belongs in this same-plan intersection because its manual documents analog audio with the headset off or depleted; this passive route is not an ANC plan.

Find all models with both analog audio and passive power-off playback.

The Space 2 Pro D1406Z11 meets the analog-plus-battery-free request only in its powered-off passive cable state. That same state has no ANC; the review explains the separate powered plan. See the same analog-and-passive finder conditions.

The Life Q20 A3025 also meets the analog-plus-battery-free request according to soundcore's model-specific battery-depleted FAQ. Its passive AUX mode is not an ANC plan; compare the same analog-and-passive finder conditions.

The Q31i D1404Z11 qualifies in this passive analog intersection because its model-specific wired instructions allow power-off use; its AUX path has no ANC. The separate Q20i A3004Z11 remains outside because passive playback with the battery depleted is unconfirmed. Compare the exact Q31i and Q20i assessments and use the same analog-plus-passive finder.

Do not add the JBL CLUB 950NC Refurbished to the battery-free list: its AUX cable is documented, but JBL does not confirm playback when the headphone is powered off or depleted. The review leaves that state unknown rather than treating the powered 30-hour ANC plan as passive. Use the same earlier-inclusive analog/passive condition.

ANC and passive power-off playback cannot be the same arrangement

No reviewed configuration documents active noise cancellation and passive playback with the headphone powered off in one operating arrangement; when the set is passive and off, ANC is unavailable. Apple's AirPods Max 2 is also not matched to battery-free playback: Apple documents an analog cable route but does not state whether audio continues with the headphones powered off. That uncertainty is not evidence either of passive capability or of impossibility. The M5/BTD 700 set's analog question is separately unresolved, not evidence that ANC can operate in a passive state.

The earlier AirPods Max 1 (USB-C) has the same evidentiary limit for power-off listening: its optional analog cable is documented, but Apple does not establish passive playback with the headset off. It is therefore not treated as a battery-free match. Use the same earlier-inclusive ANC/passive finder condition.

Technics EAH-A1000-K is a useful same-model distinction: Technics EAH-A1000-K has a documented powered analog ANC arrangement, but that does not establish passive playback. Its cable ANC arrangement is rated approximately 30 hours, and Panasonic's instructions require power-on. No reviewed configuration matches the combination of ANC, analog cable audio and battery-free passive playback in a single arrangement. Compare the exact current-only ANC-plus-analog result with the same requirements plus battery-free playback.

The earlier MOMENTUM 2 and MOMENTUM 3 illustrate the documented boundary: each manual supports powered cable ANC and separately describes passive cable audio with the battery empty, when ANC is off. The matcher does not combine these states. If ANC matters, compare a powered arrangement; if listening after power-off matters more, use the passive-only finder choice. This is a real operating-mode conflict among documented arrangements, not proof that no model anywhere supports wired ANC.

The earlier Technics EAH-F70N is another example of separate states: its Bluetooth plan has ANC, while its analog cord supports normal audio with the headphone off or depleted and ANC unavailable. It cannot satisfy the earlier-inclusive same-arrangement ANC-plus-battery-free request. Check that exact earlier-inclusive combination.

The Blue Live 670NC and Black earlier Tour One M2 also show separate modes: each QSG presents power-off passive cable audio with ANC disabled, apart from its powered ANC-capable state. The earlier white JR 460NC has powered wired ANC, but battery-depleted passive playback is not clearly established. None supports a documented same-arrangement ANC-plus-battery-free match.

Check the exact ANC-required and battery-free combination. Check the same conflict with earlier model references included.

The Live 660NC Personalized makes this distinction concrete: the sources support Bluetooth ANC with a 40-hour maker maximum and separately support passive wired music after battery depletion. Neither plan combines ANC with a powered-off state, so it does not change the no-match answer.

The current-reference Live 460NC and earlier Tune 660NC also document battery-depleted cable playback, but those passive plans have ANC off; their powered Bluetooth ANC and, for Tune 660NC, powered AUX ANC are separate arrangements. The Tune 670NC has a documented powered AUX ANC plan, while JBL leaves power-off cable behavior unknown. None makes ANC-plus-battery-free a documented match; use the exact ANC-and-passive combination finder.

The Philips TAH8000BK/37 similarly has separate powered cable ANC and passive battery-depleted cable plans, while its 50-hour ANC rating belongs to Bluetooth; the TAH6509BK/00 is not evidence of this combination because its cable power-off behavior is unknown. Neither makes ANC active in a passive powered-off state.

The Space One Pro has documented Bluetooth ANC and a different wired-ANC plan, but its guide does not confirm battery-free playback; it cannot be counted as ANC and passive power-off listening in one arrangement. See the same ANC-plus-battery-free finder condition.

The Space 2 Pro D1406Z11 documents both powered cable ANC and passive cable playback with the headset off, but only in separate arrangements; ANC is unavailable in the powered-off plan. No reviewed configuration documents active noise cancellation and passive playback with the headphone powered off in one operating arrangement; the Space 2 Pro supports both capabilities only in separate powered and passive cable states, so ANC is unavailable when it is off. Use the same no-match ANC/passive finder.

The Life Q20 A3025 illustrates the same incompatibility: soundcore confirms its wired mode after battery depletion, but the manual says inserting the AUX lead turns ANC off. It is a passive analog match only without ANC. Check the exact ANC-required and battery-free combination.

The distinct Q31i D1404Z11 likewise has a passive AUX route with the headset powered off and ANC unavailable; the Q20i A3004Z11 manual turns ANC off when AUX is connected, while passive playback after depletion is not confirmed for that model. Neither documents ANC and battery-free playback together. Check the current or earlier-inclusive same-condition answer.

The earlier JBL CLUB 950NC does not change this result: its 30-hour cable rating applies with ANC on, a powered AUX plan; the documents do not confirm a separate passive, power-off plan. It cannot be counted as battery-free ANC. Check the same earlier-inclusive conflict condition.

A passive power-off route has no ANC-on runtime rating

No reviewed configuration documents 30 or more manufacturer-rated ANC-on playback hours while the headphone is powered off for passive analog playback. The M5/BTD 700 set has no confirmed battery-free route or analog ANC runtime; its 57-hour figure belongs to direct Bluetooth ANC.

The Life Q20 A3025 has a confirmed passive wire mode by its same-model FAQ, but ANC is off in AUX and the maker does not supply a reconciled ANC-on rating. Its Bluetooth figures cannot become a passive-state runtime; check the same battery-free and numeric-floor condition.

The newer Q31i also permits passive power-off cable use, but its rated ANC hours belong to a powered Bluetooth plan; Q20i has no confirmed passive-depleted-battery route and AUX disables ANC. Neither has a 30-hour ANC-on rating in one battery-free plan. Use the same battery-free and 30-hour finder condition.

The numeric question compares an ANC-on maximum in one documented plan; battery-free listening is a different passive state, where the ANC circuitry and its battery-dependent rating do not apply. The MOMENTUM 4 and BTD 700 set, for example, has a rated direct-Bluetooth ANC plan and a separate passive analog fallback plan, not a single arrangement with both properties. Choose which requirement is essential and confirm the actual cable and power state.

Check the exact battery-free and 30-hour ANC-rating condition.

Analog listening with ANC requires a powered plan

When ANC and analog audio are both essential, 34 current-only reviewed configurations have a single documented 3.5 mm arrangement with ANC available while the headphone is powered.

Power-on wired behavior varies. Apple's AirPods Max 2 has a documented analog cable route, but the current support instructions do not state whether ANC operates in that route, so the matcher does not treat it as a confirmed powered-analog-ANC fit. The Beats Studio Pro has a documented battery-free analog path but no documented ANC-on analog arrangement; the Beats 360 product pages document USB-C charging but not 3.5 mm input. Neither is counted in this powered analog result. The M4 headset in the MOMENTUM 4/BTD 700 bundle and the M5 headset in the MOMENTUM 5/BTD 700 set both document powered analog ANC; neither set has a separate cable-runtime rating or confirmed analog-lead inventory. The Sony WH-1000XM6, Bose QuietComfort Ultra (2nd Gen), and Sennheiser MOMENTUM 5 Wireless are useful candidates to inspect, not a comparative performance ranking.

The JBL Live 770NC, standard Black Tour One M3, and distinct Tour One M3 Smart Tx are included because their quick-start guides show wired listening with ANC controls. JBL publishes no ANC-on cable duration for any of them, so the 50- or 40-hour Bluetooth maxima are not carried over to analog.

The Live 460NC also has quick-start-guide controls for ANC in wired listening, but no separate analog ANC runtime is stated. Unlike Tune 670NC, its wired rating should remain unknown rather than inheriting a Bluetooth value.

The Tune 780NC adds the same kind of documented wired ANC control, with no published cable runtime; its Bluetooth 50-hour maximum is not a wired rating.

The Live 780NC also has a guide-documented wired mode with ANC controls, bringing another supported plan into this analog-plus-ANC answer. Its published 50-hour rating is for Bluetooth ANC, not cable use; the same-condition finder does not assign it an analog runtime.

Two newer tune models have distinct manufacturer-rated wired ANC plans: current-reference Tune 670NC is rated up to 30 hours for AUX plus ANC, while earlier Tune 660NC is rated up to 35 hours in AUX with ANC. The ratings apply only while powered ANC operates on that analog input; Tune 660NC's passive depleted-battery fallback is a different non-ANC state. Compare the current-reference 30-hour wired ANC floor against the earlier-inclusive 35-hour wired ANC floor. Neither figure promises actual runtime from an older or currently unknown battery.

The Philips TAH8000BK/37 manual confirms ANC in powered 3.5 mm listening, so it is another match without a published cable-mode runtime. Philips' TAH6509BK/00 lists ANC over Bluetooth but does not resolve ANC on its analog route; the connector-size conflict also merits a package check. Neither Bluetooth runtime is treated as an analog ANC rating.

The standard Shure AONIC 50 Gen 2 is also counted for powered analog ANC as an inference: its manual documents the analog input, persistent DSP settings across source connections and ANC controls. Shure does not publish an ANC runtime for this cable mode, and its unqualified 45-hour headline cannot satisfy an analog ANC-hours minimum. Compare this specific intersection in the same ANC-plus-analog finder.

The Jet Black soundcore Space One Pro is another confirmed powered 3.5 mm ANC plan: its guide states that the NC button can switch ANC or Transparency during wired listening. Soundcore does not publish a cable-mode runtime or confirm power-off playback. It appears in the same ANC-plus-analog finder, but its 40-hour Bluetooth rating is not transferred to the cable.

Find all models whose analog arrangement also documents ANC.

The Space 2 Pro D1406Z11 is another powered analog ANC arrangement: the D1406 guide tells the listener to power the headset and use the NC button for ANC or Transparency while cabled. No analog ANC runtime is published; see the exact-model assessment. Compare the same powered analog ANC finder condition.

The separate Space 2 D1402Z11 also documents powered ANC over 3.5 mm and a button for ANC/Transparency. No powered-analog runtime or power-off passive playback is confirmed; read the D1402 assessment and follow the same powered analog ANC finder condition.

The Life Q20 A3025 is excluded from this powered-analog ANC set: its manual says AUX automatically disables ANC. The same ANC-plus-analog finder requires ANC in the cable arrangement, not merely a jack.

The distinct Q20i A3004Z11 and Q31i D1404Z11 are also excluded from powered analog ANC: the Q20i manual and Q31i ANC instructions both say ANC is unavailable on the AUX input. Their Bluetooth ANC plans do not establish ANC over that cable. Check the same ANC-plus-analog condition.

The current U.S. Technics EAH-A1000-K adds a directly documented powered analog ANC arrangement through its USB-C-to-3.5 mm cable. Panasonic rates ANC-on wired playback at approximately 30 hours and instructs the listener to power on; passive playback is not established. Use the same ANC-plus-analog finder.

The current-reference Blue Live 670NC joins this current-only powered cable ANC set. The QSG shows ANC in a powered wired state; the maker's separate 40-hour Bluetooth-off/ANC-on entry is mapped to that arrangement only as an interpretation, not as a separately named AUX-runtime claim. The same current-only ANC-plus-analog finder holds the mode constant.

Including earlier models changes the powered-cable shortlist

With earlier models included, 45 reviewed configurations document a powered analog arrangement with ANC. That is a different result from the current-reference-only finder, and it still does not describe passive listening after the battery is depleted.

The earlier Apple AirPods Max 1 (USB-C, 2024) is not counted as a powered-analog-ANC match: Apple documents a separate optional analog-source cable but does not establish ANC while listening through that cable. Do not transfer its Bluetooth ANC feature or 20-hour Bluetooth rating to that analog mode. Compare the same earlier-inclusive ANC-and-analog finder.

CLUB ONE's separate powered AUX ANC rating reaches 25 hours

At a 25-hour minimum, the earlier JBL CLUB ONE qualifies through its documented powered AUX-plus-ANC plan; JBL rates the distinct Bluetooth ANC plan at 23 hours.

At a 26-hour analog ANC minimum, CLUB ONE drops out because its AUX-plus-ANC maximum is 25 hours. The earlier JBL Tune 660NC remains a comparison at that floor on its separately documented 35-hour AUX-plus-ANC plan. The CLUB ONE review explains why its general product-page 25-hour ANC field cannot replace route-specific evidence. Find earlier-inclusive powered analog ANC at 25 rated hours or compare the same route at 26. These manufacturer maxima do not confirm battery-flat playback.

The earlier JBL CLUB 950NC Refurbished is a distinct cable-ANC comparison: JBL rates AUX-in with ANC at up to 30 hours, enough to clear these 25- and 26-hour analog floors, while CLUB ONE's own AUX plan is rated 25. Neither cable figure transfers to Bluetooth. See the same earlier-inclusive analog ANC set at 25 hours, at 26 hours, and the full CLUB 950NC assessment.

The current-reference soundcore Space One Pro remains in this earlier-inclusive result: its A3062 manual explicitly allows ANC selection during 3.5 mm listening, but publishes no cable-mode runtime. The standard Black JBL Tour One M3 is another current-reference powered analog-ANC match; its 40-hour claim is Bluetooth-only. Check the same earlier-inclusive powered analog-ANC finder condition.

The earlier HD 450BT and HD 450SE manuals allow cable ANC when charged and powered; the original PXC 550 and PXC 550-II each document powered cable ANC and a separate 30-hour only-ANC mode. The MOMENTUM 2 M2 AEBT (Article No. 506250) manual allows NoiseGard ANC in its powered 2.5 mm cable state, without assigning that state the separate 22-hour HFP-plus-ANC rating. The MOMENTUM 3 M3AEBTXL (Black 508234; White 508235) manual permits ANC through its analog cable if its battery is charged; that route is also unrated. In each case, inserting an analog lead disables Bluetooth. Keep powered cable plans distinct from battery-empty passive listening and check charge, seller condition and the exact cable package.

The current-reference Q20i and Q31i are not part of this powered analog-ANC set: each manual turns ANC off when AUX is connected. Their separate Bluetooth ANC results remain in the same earlier-inclusive powered-cable finder only when a model documents ANC in that analog arrangement.

The JBL Live 770NC and Tour One M3 Smart Tx quick-start guides also show ANC controls during wired listening, adding these powered analog arrangements to the earlier-inclusive set. JBL publishes no ANC-on cable runtime for either, and their 50- and 40-hour Bluetooth ANC maxima do not transfer to that cable mode.

The current-reference Tune 780NC has the same carefully bounded arrangement: ANC controls are shown in the wired mode, but a cable ANC runtime is not rated.

The JBL Live 780NC is another wired-ANC example: its quick-start guide shows ANC controls while wired, but the exact cable ANC runtime is unreported and its Bluetooth rating does not transfer. Use the earlier-inclusive analog-ANC finder for this connection-and-feature condition without a duration requirement.

The Philips TAH8000BK/37 adds a powered analog ANC arrangement via its included 3.5 mm lead; its ANC-on runtime over that cable is not specified. TAH6509's analog ANC status remains unknown, so that model is not counted for this condition. Its 45-hour rating applies to Bluetooth ANC only.

The earlier TAH9505BK/00, TAH8505BK/00 and TAPH805BK/27 each list an analog cable path but do not establish that ANC remains active over that cable. Their Bluetooth ANC maxima—27 hours for TAH9505 and 25 hours for the other two—cannot be transferred to an unconfirmed wired ANC state.

Find reviewed earlier-inclusive configurations with powered analog ANC.

The current JBL Live 460NC shows ANC controls during wired listening, but has no published cable-mode ANC duration. The current Tune 670NC is rated up to 30 hours for AUX plus ANC, and earlier Tune 660NC up to 35 hours in its powered AUX-plus-ANC plan. Their separate battery-depleted passive routes cannot be combined with ANC. Find the same earlier-inclusive powered analog-ANC set.

The current-reference Space 2 Pro D1406Z11 also supports powered ANC over 3.5 mm in this earlier-inclusive result, but its cable ANC duration is unknown and the Bluetooth figure is not transferred. Find the same earlier-inclusive analog-ANC matches.

The distinct Space 2 D1402Z11 also supports powered ANC over 3.5 mm, without a separate cable runtime. Its standard Bluetooth figure is not transferred; see the D1402 review and the same earlier-inclusive analog-ANC set.

The current-reference Life Q20 A3025 is not included in this earlier-inclusive ANC-plus-analog result. Its A3025 manual says plugging in the AUX lead turns ANC off; review the same powered-cable condition.

The current-reference Technics EAH-A1000-K belongs in this earlier-inclusive ANC-and-analog result too. Panasonic documents ANC on its powered USB-C-to-3.5 mm cable route; its approximately 30-hour cable rating is separate from Bluetooth. Compare the exact earlier-inclusive powered analog-ANC finder.

The earlier EAH-F70N is not a match for powered analog ANC: its manual documents only passive cord playback while off or depleted and does not establish ANC over cable. Use the same earlier-inclusive powered-cable condition.

The White JR 460NC and Black Tour One M2 are earlier JBL models whose QSGs show powered wired ANC. Their documents do not state a wired ANC duration, so neither the JR's 20-hour nor the Tour One M2's 30-hour Bluetooth ANC rating is carried over. The Blue Live 670NC is current-reference and retains its separately disclosed interpreted 40-hour wired plan. Find the same earlier-inclusive powered analog-ANC set.

The Black-Z JBL CLUB 950NC Refurbished is one earlier cable-ANC example: JBL rates AUX-in plus ANC at up to 30 hours. This is powered listening and does not settle the separate Bluetooth runtime conflict. Compare all candidates under the same earlier-inclusive ANC-and-analog conditions.

Include earlier models for battery-free analog fallback

With earlier models included, 30 reviewed configurations document both analog cable audio and passive playback with the battery empty. None can provide ANC in that powered-off arrangement.

The Beats Studio Pro is a current passive-cable example: Apple Support says its included 3.5 mm cable does not require headphone battery power. The earlier HD 450BT, HD 450SE, PXC 550 and PXC 550-II have separate battery-depleted cable plans. The MOMENTUM 2 M2 AEBT manual also distinguishes passive, powered-off analog audio from its charged, ANC-on cable mode; the MOMENTUM 3 manual permits passive cable audio at empty battery but reserves ANC for a sufficiently charged battery. In each, passive playback and ANC are different states; confirm the exact 2.5 mm headset cable and whether the seller includes it. Check battery, pads, connector condition and package before relying on a fallback mode.

The JBL Live 660NC Personalized adds one current-reference configuration: JBL explicitly says music can continue over the detachable analog cable after battery depletion. This supports passive audio only; it does not give the depleted unit ANC or a 40-hour passive runtime.

The current-reference Philips TAH8000BK/37 also documents the powered-off cable fallback. That passive mode is distinct from its powered analog ANC mode; TAH6509's power-off behavior is unconfirmed.

The current-reference Technics EAH-A800-K is another supported passive cable case: its manual says ordinary headphone playback is available with the supplied cord while off or depleted. Do not treat that as a powered wired ANC feature.

The current-reference Life Q20 A3025 stays in this earlier-inclusive passive analog set: its official A3025 FAQ confirms wired listening after the battery runs out, while AUX disables ANC. See the same earlier-inclusive finder.

The Q31i D1404Z11 is included through its documented power-off passive AUX arrangement; ANC is unavailable in that state. The Q20i A3004's power-off behavior is unknown and does not enter. Check the same earlier-inclusive analog/battery-free finder.

The earlier Technics EAH-F70N is an additional match: the U.S. manual says its supplied cord plays normally while the battery is empty or the unit is off. This remains passive audio, not ANC; the exact seller SKU and included parts still need checking. Use the same earlier-inclusive analog-plus-passive finder.

The earlier TAH9505BK/00, TAH8505BK/00 and TAPH805BK/27 each list an analog input, but their reviewed manuals/product sheets do not state that playback continues with power off. Their passive status stays unknown rather than matching this battery-free set; this is separate from the confirmed Philips TAH8000 passive plan.

Find all earlier-inclusive models with analog audio and documented battery-free playback.

The Live 460NC and earlier Tune 660NC add separate passive cable plans; JBL says audio continues after a flat battery, with ANC unavailable in that state. The Tune 670NC does not join this set because power-off cable behavior is not documented. Verify the exact lead and use the same earlier-inclusive passive finder.

The current-reference Space 2 Pro D1406Z11 is also included when earlier references are admitted: it documents passive power-off 3.5 mm audio, but not ANC in that battery-free state; see the review. Find that same earlier-inclusive analog-passive set.

The earlier Black Tour One M2 QSG distinguishes a power-off passive cable state from powered ANC listening. The current Blue Live 670NC also documents passive wired audio with power off and ANC disabled. The JR 460NC has a powered cable ANC diagram, but its power-off/depleted audio state is not clear enough to count as battery-free. Use the same earlier-inclusive analog plus battery-free finder.

Do not count the earlier JBL CLUB 950NC Refurbished here: its U.S. page lists an AUX lead and powered ANC mode, but the reviewed model instructions do not establish playback when the headphone is off or depleted. Treat that state as unknown, not confirmed passive playback; use the same earlier-inclusive analog-plus-battery-free finder for documented passive arrangements.

Require at least 30 rated ANC-on hours over an analog cable

Six current-reference configurations document powered analog listening with ANC and a cited rating of at least 30 continuous ANC-on hours in that same arrangement.

This stricter intersection excludes a model whose Bluetooth ANC plan reaches 30 hours but whose powered analog ANC plan is not rated that high. The Sony ULT WEAR, Sony WH-CH720N, and Sony WH-CH730N illustrate why a cable mode needs its own rating. Confirm the exact source plug, included cable and power state in the relevant assessment.

The Philips TAH8000BK/37 has powered analog ANC, but Philips publishes no ANC runtime for that cable arrangement; its 50-hour Bluetooth figure does not clear this cable-specific floor. The TAH6509BK/00 also cannot qualify: analog ANC is not confirmed. See the same ANC, analog and 30-hour finder for the complete threshold result.

Find models satisfying ANC, analog audio and a 30-hour rating in one arrangement.

The current-reference Tune 670NC adds a sixth configuration at this analog threshold: JBL rates its powered AUX-plus-ANC route up to 30 hours, not 31. The Live 460NC is not counted at a numeric cable floor because JBL gives no analog ANC duration, even though its guide shows wired ANC controls. Compare the same current-only cable/ANC requirement at 30 hours and 31 hours.

The Space 2 Pro D1406Z11 also documents powered analog ANC, but not a cable-mode runtime; its 30-hour Bluetooth ANC maximum is not evidence of 30 hours over analog. Read the D1406 review and the same wired ANC 30-hour finder condition.

The Q20i and Q31i AUX routes do not support ANC, so neither has a same-plan 30-hour powered analog-ANC rating; their Bluetooth hours cannot substitute. See the same ANC, analog and 30-hour finder.

The Technics EAH-A1000-K is another current-reference match at this 30-hour floor: Panasonic rates its powered USB-C-to-3.5 mm ANC plan at approximately 30 hours. It falls below a 31-hour analog ANC minimum; its longer Bluetooth ratings belong to different arrangements. See the same ANC, analog and 30-hour finder and the full assessment.

At a 31-hour current-reference minimum, Technics EAH-A1000-K falls below the floor because its powered analog ANC rating is approximately 30 hours. The Sony WH-CH730N remains as a cable-runtime comparison; check the same current-only ANC, analog and 31-hour finder.

Earlier powered-cable ANC at a 30-hour minimum

Eleven configurations have powered analog ANC rated for at least 30 hours in one plan when earlier models are included: the two PXC 550 versions, four Sony configurations, JBL CLUB 950NC Refurbished, Live 670NC, Tune 660NC and Tune 670NC, and Technics EAH-A1000-K. At 31 hours only Live 670NC (on its explicitly disclosed interpreted table-to-wired mapping), Tune 660NC and the two Sony WH-CH models remain; the 30-hour PXC pair, Tune 670NC, ULT WEAR, INZONE H9 II and EAH-A1000 leave the set. The standard Tour One M3 has no numeric analog ANC rating, so its Bluetooth-only 40 hours does not qualify for either cable floor.

The PXC 550 Article No. 506514 manual assigns 30 hours to audio-cable playback with NoiseGard; the PXC 550-II Article No. 508337 SEBT5 specification rates its 30-hour only-ANC mode with or without the cable. Neither figure is the 20-hour Bluetooth-plus-ANC rating, and an aged battery may not approach either factory maximum. The matching set also includes the Sony INZONE H9 II, ULT WEAR, WH-CH720N and WH-CH730N; inspect each review's exact wired-mode and power notes.

Find every earlier-inclusive powered analog ANC plan meeting 30 hours.

JBL's current-reference Tune 670NC and earlier Tune 660NC are two of the 11 configurations meeting this earlier-inclusive 30-hour floor, alongside the distinct CLUB 950NC assessment. Their AUX-plus-ANC ratings are different: up to 30 hours for Tune 670NC and up to 35 for Tune 660NC. Tune 660NC reaches a 35-hour floor exactly and still meets 31 hours, then drops out at 36; do not carry either wired figure over to Bluetooth. No reviewed earlier-inclusive powered analog ANC plan reaches 36 hours. Compare the earlier-inclusive 35-hour condition with 36 hours to see that boundary.

Although Q20i and Q31i are included when earlier references are allowed, AUX disables ANC on both. They have no same-plan 30-hour wired-ANC rating; their Bluetooth runtimes do not meet this analog condition. Use the same earlier-inclusive 30-hour finder.

The current-reference Technics EAH-A1000-K is another of the 11 matches at this 30-hour earlier-inclusive floor because its powered analog ANC plan is rated approximately 30 hours. It drops out at 31 hours; only Live 670NC, Tune 660NC, WH-CH720N and WH-CH730N remain; see the same earlier-inclusive 30-hour finder and 31-hour comparison.

JBL's current-reference Blue Live 670NC is also counted at the 30-, 31-, 35- and 36-hour earlier-inclusive powered analog ANC floors on the interpreted 40-hour table plan. The spec table identifies Bluetooth off with ANC on; the QSG shows wired ANC, so this is an explicitly disclosed connection mapping rather than a separately named AUX runtime. It also meets the earlier-inclusive 40-hour query and drops at 41; see 30, 31, 36, 40 and 41 hours under the matching earlier-inclusive conditions.

The earlier JBL CLUB 950NC Refurbished is another distinct cable-ANC boundary: JBL’s model-specific guide gives up to 30 hours for AUX-in plus ANC, so it fits this same-plan 30-hour floor but not a 31-hour minimum. Its disputed Bluetooth ANC runtime does not enter the cable result. Compare the 30-hour result with the same conditions at 31 hours.

One more hour narrows the earlier cable-ANC result

At a 31-hour minimum, the earlier Tune 660NC remains alongside the Sony WH-CH720N and WH-CH730N because its separate powered AUX ANC rating is 35 hours; neither PXC 550 model's 30-hour cable/only-ANC rating clears the higher floor.

This boundary depends on the rating in the same powered analog ANC arrangement, not a Bluetooth number borrowed from another plan. The WH-CH720N and WH-CH730N remain possible matches because their cited analog plans reach 35 hours; use the earlier PXC 550 and PXC 550-II reviews to compare what drops out and check battery condition before buying an older unit.

Find all earlier-inclusive powered analog ANC plans meeting 31 hours.

The Q20i and Q31i are not 31-hour wired ANC candidates either: AUX disables ANC, so their Bluetooth maxima cannot be carried into this same-plan analog result. Check the same earlier-inclusive 31-hour condition.

Live 670NC’s interpreted wired ANC rating at 40 hours

With current references only, a 40-hour minimum for analog listening with ANC required matches the JBL Live 670NC under the interpreted powered wired ANC plan. JBL's table labels the 40-hour figure Bluetooth-off with ANC on, and its QSG shows powered wired ANC; the connection mapping is an evidence-based interpretation rather than a separately named AUX-runtime claim. Find the same current-only answers at 40 hours.

No reviewed current-reference wired ANC plan has an established maximum of at least 41 hours in this exact connection state. The Live 670NC's interpreted wired ANC rating is 40 hours; no Bluetooth figure can replace it. Compare the same conditions at a 41-hour minimum.

The Live 670NC's separate power-off cable mode is passive with ANC disabled. The earlier Tour One M2 and JR 460NC have powered wired ANC, but the reviewed sources do not state an ANC-on cable runtime for either one, so their Bluetooth maxima do not satisfy a numeric analog floor.

When earlier references are enabled, the same mode-specific 40-hour result still includes the Live 670NC; its interpreted wired plan falls below a 41-hour minimum. Compare the earlier-inclusive 40-hour result with the same answers at 41 hours. No older JBL Bluetooth figure is substituted for a wired ANC rating.

With earlier references included, no reviewed powered wired ANC plan reaches a 41-hour minimum. The current Blue Live 670NC is rated at 40 hours only under the explicitly interpreted wired plan; the 41-hour same-condition finder therefore has no qualifying current or earlier entry: see the exact earlier-inclusive 41-hour answers.
