Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can the MOMENTUM 4 Wireless keep a phone and laptop connected at once?
The manual says two devices can be active, the headphones reconnect to the last two used and up to six Bluetooth profiles can be saved. Audio still plays from only one device at a time, so this is switching rather than mixing.
Explore this need in the finder →Can the MOMENTUM 4 play through its analog cable after the battery is empty?
The M4 manual says to use the included 2.5 mm-to-3.5 mm cable when the battery is empty, while ANC over that cable is available only if the battery is charged. Sennheiser’s current specification also gives separate active and passive speaker impedance. The supported passive plan has no ANC or Bluetooth; confirm the exact White SKU and a compatible source jack.
Explore this need in the finder →Does the 60-hour rating support a long Bluetooth ANC session?
Sennheiser lists up to 60 hours of Bluetooth music playback with ANC on, tested with an iPhone at mid volume. A 50-hour finder threshold compares that published maximum only; it does not promise your actual use time. Allow for calls, volume, settings, battery condition and trip length.
Explore this need in the finder →The MOMENTUM 4 Wireless remains listed in Sennheiser’s U.S. store alongside the newer MOMENTUM 5. This assessment uses the exact White U.S. model, store SKU 509267, and the manual’s model designation M4AEBT. It is not a personal listening or wear test. The manufacturer record supports ANC, wireless and cable modes, but individual fit, comfort and perceived noise reduction are still matters to check for yourself.
A long maximum, not a travel guarantee
Sennheiser lists up to 60 hours of music playback over Bluetooth with ANC active. Its current specification gives a test condition—an iPhone at mid volume—which is more useful than the headline alone, but still does not predict the time you will get with your own source, volume, calls, battery age and settings. The approximately 293 g weight, two-hour charge time, 700 mAh built-in lithium-ion battery and Bluetooth 5.2 specification are manufacturer values, not comfort or battery-life measurements performed for this review.
The M4 uses hybrid adaptive ANC with four microphones and a 42 mm dynamic transducer. Its listed Bluetooth codecs are SBC, AAC and aptX Adaptive; codec availability depends on the source device too. The manual describes two active Bluetooth connections, reconnecting to the last two used, and up to six saved device profiles. One audio source plays at a time. For a phone-and-laptop user, that means two devices may remain connected while playback switches; it does not mean simultaneous mixing.
The cable is useful in two distinct ways
The supplied analog cable has a 2.5 mm plug at the headphone and a 3.5 mm plug for the source. The instruction manual says to use this cable when the battery is empty, while also explaining that ANC over cable is available only when the battery is charged. Sennheiser’s current specification lists separate active and passive speaker impedances. Read together, these are good model-specific support for passive cable playback when the headset is off or depleted—but passive playback is not ANC. The power-off route should not be described as a way to keep noise cancellation operating.
The M4 also supports USB-C audio from a PC or Mac, in addition to USB-C charging. The analog cable triggers flight mode and disconnects Bluetooth; it does not preserve the phone-and-laptop connection routine. The M4 box list includes the analog cable, USB-A-to-USB-C charging cable, carrying case, quick guide, safety guide, compliance sheet and an in-flight adapter. That is a meaningful convenience for a source with a two-prong airplane socket, but confirm the exact package because Sennheiser separately lists BTD 700 bundles and refurbished versions.
What changes in the newer MOMENTUM 5
Sennheiser’s comparison table frames the M5 as the newer model: eight ANC microphones rather than four, Bluetooth 5.4 rather than 5.2, Dolby Atmos spatial audio, a user-replaceable battery rather than the M4’s built-in one, and a 57-hour rather than 60-hour ANC-on maximum. The M4 is the more straightforward choice if its longer published maximum or documented passive cable route is central to your needs; the M5 adds newer wireless and spatial-audio features and a serviceable battery. Microphone count does not establish how much cancellation you will personally hear, and a difference in advertised maximum is not a measured head-to-head listening result.
Do not confuse the regular M4 with the separately listed M4 and BTD 700 set. The dongle is an additional package and capability; the White SKU assessed here is the regular MOMENTUM 4 Wireless. Other appearance and refurbishment listings are not additional M4 operating modes, but their exact U.S. identifiers and offer terms still matter; the next section describes what the manufacturer's records establish and what they leave unknown.
Finish identity and buying checks
The White variant remains the base assessment: Sennheiser’s support specification names White SKU 509267, matching the selected U.S. White store variant. The exact Black selector is also on the regular MOMENTUM 4 Wireless U.S. product page, with a Black variant payload labeled 800107; that same page’s specification table calls “M4 Black” Article No. (SKU) 509266. The manufacturer does not explain whether those two codes are aliases, a store-versus-article numbering difference, or stale page data. The page groups Black and White as finishes of the same M4 product, so this review covers Black as a finish-only variant with no documented operating difference; it does not treat 800107 and 509266 as interchangeable order identifiers.
Before ordering, match the exact selected finish and ask the seller to identify its order SKU; for Black, the U.S. page shows 800107 in variant data and 509266 in its specification table, so do not assume one code substitutes for the other. For White, match SKU 509267. Confirm the regular model—not a BTD 700 bundle or refurbished item—and check return terms. If battery-free listening is essential, verify the exact M4 listing and cable; if ANC must remain active, keep the headset charged and powered. Test fit, ear clearance and comfort during a return-eligible period, since published specifications cannot tell you whether the cups suit your ears, glasses or preferred clamp.
Exact U.S. finishes observed
The product page supplied exact finish-specific images for the U.S. M4 color options. White is the base variant; the Black photo identifies the selected finish, not which of the page’s two code fields a retailer may display.

80th Anniversary and refurbished U.S. listings
Sennheiser's U.S. 80th Anniversary Special Edition Refurbished page identifies Article No. 800072; its product JSON shows refurbished variant SKU B800072. The maker describes a collaborative graffitied earcup treatment and yellow “80” mark. Its listed M4 specifications retain Bluetooth 5.2, hybrid adaptive ANC, a 42 mm driver and up to 60 hours of Bluetooth music with ANC under the same iPhone-at-mid-volume test condition. The design is materially distinctive, but the consulted evidence does not show a new cancellation system or a different operating plan.
The separate U.S. MOMENTUM 4 Wireless Refurbished listing exposes Black B509266, White B509267, Graphite B700383, Brown B800074, Teal B800073 and Copper B800108. Sennheiser calls these products Certified Refurbished, says they are tested, checked and inspected, and states that the headphone listing includes accessories and cables with a one-year manufacturer warranty. This is a manufacturer description, not independent proof of a particular unit's battery health, wear or remaining charge capacity. The refurbished Black code corresponds to support SKU 509266; it does not settle the separate normal-store Black item 800107 conflict discussed above.
The selected manufacturer images below help identify those six refurbished-listing finishes. They show the headphone model only; they do not document cosmetic grade or the condition of an individual refurbished unit.

The manufacturer’s broader U.S. noise-cancellation catalogue also returns a separate MOMENTUM 4 Wireless Denim Refurbished product. Its collection JSON lists variant 46863981871387 with SKU B700386, while the exact product page’s specification table prints Article number (SKU) 700386. I keep both fields as observed rather than normalize them: this refurbished product ID is separate from the regular Denim store selection 800109 and from the separately observed closed-shop Denim listing. The page calls this offer Certified Refurbished, states a one-year manufacturer warranty and an accessories-and-cables inclusion; its included-items list names a case, USB-C charging cable, 3.5 mm/2.5 mm audio cable and airplane adapter. The page describes the same circumaural Bluetooth-and-ANC M4 configuration and rated runtime as the M4 assessment, so refurbishment changes the offer condition, not the documented listening plan. The exact-unit cosmetic grade, battery health and service history are not shown.

Additional exact U.S. finish records
Separate U.S. manufacturer records also identify Copper SKU 700382 (GTIN 810091272619) and Denim SKU 700386 (GTIN 810091272657) as MOMENTUM 4 Wireless finishes. The current public M4 selector uses Copper SKU 800108 / GTIN 810091274316 and Denim SKU 800109 / GTIN 810091274323. The sources do not explain these different item codes, so keep them distinct when checking an offer; the shared model name and operating assessment do not make the codes interchangeable. A separate Sonova-employee catalog record names PRIDE Edition SKU 700384. That channel record does not establish general purchasing eligibility or package contents. These selected manufacturer images document finish appearance only, not a bundle or delivered-unit condition.
