soundcore Q20i Wireless ANC Headphones (Black, A3004Z11) review

Current-reference U.S. A3004Z11 over-ear Bluetooth ANC headphones with two-device switching, a 3.5 mm AUX input and manufacturer ratings of up to 40 hours ANC-on or 60 hours ANC-off. The manual disables ANC over AUX.

A useful fit for

A current-reference model to compare for over-ear Bluetooth ANC, app EQ/mode selection, a documented two-device connection or a separate analog AUX route. The maker's rated maximum is up to 40 hours with Bluetooth ANC, under its stated playback condition.

The main tradeoff

AUX disables ANC, and powered-off/passive wired playback is unconfirmed. The U.S. page's Bluetooth 5.0 and current A3004 manual's 5.3 specification conflict, and no 40-hour ANC rating is assigned to multipoint use. Verify the exact finish/SKU and seller package.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

What ANC-on Bluetooth playback rating does the U.S. Q20i list?

The U.S. product page, A3004 guide and Q20i FAQ report up to 40 hours with Bluetooth ANC on and up to 60 with it off. The FAQ describes 50% volume with three songs looped; it is not a guarantee for every playlist, call pattern or old battery.

Can it stay connected to two Bluetooth devices?

Yes. The U.S. page and A3004 manual document dual connections. They describe switching between devices rather than mixing sources; the 40-hour rating is not specifically tested with both links active.

Explore this need in the finder →
Does ANC work while I use its AUX cable?

No. The A3004 manual says AUX disables ANC and Bluetooth, and the official Q20i FAQ confirms that ANC is unavailable in AUX-in mode.

Can the Q20i play analog audio when it is powered off?

The reviewed A3004 manual and Q20i FAQ do not confirm power-off or battery-depleted AUX playback. Treat passive behavior as unknown rather than assuming the analog input works without battery power.

Which Bluetooth version does the U.S. Q20i use?

The official U.S. page says Bluetooth 5.0 while the current A3004 manual says 5.3. Soundcore does not reconcile the difference for the selected U.S. finish; this assessment leaves the version unassigned.

Soundcore · Current-reference U.S. model · Black A3004Z11

The soundcore Q20i A3004 is an over-ear Bluetooth ANC headphone, not the older Life Q20 A3025 and not the Q31i D1404. The U.S. product record lists five finishes; this assessment is anchored to Black SKU A3004Z11, with White, Navy Blue, Pink and Taupe retained as separate finish-only variants. The sources reviewed do not identify a capability difference by color. This is a research-based comparison, not a product test or a claim of personal use.

ANC, Transparency and the battery rating

The U.S. page describes hybrid ANC using two internal and two external microphones and advertises “up to 90%” reduction in some low-frequency noise. That percentage is the manufacturer’s claim, not a comparative measurement or a promise that speech, announcements or every cabin sound will disappear. The A3004 user guide identifies ANC and Transparency modes; the product page and FAQ also describe Normal mode. The app adds EQ presets and mode controls, but the reviewed documentation does not support a conclusion about how the headphone will fit or sound for a particular listener.

For this exact U.S. model, the product page, A3004 guide and support FAQ report up to 40 hours of playback with Bluetooth ANC on and up to 60 hours with ANC off. The FAQ says its figure is based on 50% volume with three songs looped, and cautions that music and environment change playtime. This is a manufacturer maximum, not a guaranteed trip duration or a current reading of a used unit’s battery. The page also lists 40 mm drivers, 246 g weight and a five-minute charge for four additional hours of play. Compare those as specifications rather than listening results.

Dual connection is a real feature, with a narrow job

The Q20i U.S. page and A3004 manual document connecting two Bluetooth devices at once. The manual shows an app path for enabling Dual Connections and a button sequence for pairing the second source. It is a phone-and-computer switching feature, not a mixer for two simultaneous audio streams. Soundcore does not tie its 40-hour ANC rating to a dual-link test, so this assessment keeps the numeric rating on the one-device plan and does not claim a 40-hour multipoint runtime.

The Q20i is also distinct from the related Life Q20 A3025. The current U.S. pages identify different model families and product codes; neither name should be used to silently substitute a nearby model or transfer its ANC-hour, weight, Bluetooth or package details. The Q31i D1404 assessment describes another current-reference option with LDAC and its own separate ANC/LDAC runtime figures. The Q20i’s reviewed U.S. page does not list LDAC or a Bluetooth codec set, so none is assigned here.

AUX is not wired ANC or confirmed battery-free playback

The A3004 manual says a 3.5 mm AUX cable turns Bluetooth off and disables ANC; the official Q20i FAQ independently answers that AUX-in has no noise cancellation. This is a listening route, not an ANC arrangement. The manual does not say that AUX playback continues when the headphone is powered off or its battery is depleted. That capability stays unknown rather than being inferred from the presence of a jack or from a different soundcore model. The exact U.S. product page and guide also do not establish that every seller supplies the required cable, so verify the box contents or plan to source a compatible lead.

Two specification uncertainties to check

One U.S. product page lists Bluetooth 5.0; the current official A3004 user guide lists Bluetooth 5.3. Soundcore provides no reconciliation for the selected U.S. SKU. The version is therefore left unassigned in the product data, although the core Bluetooth and dual-connection functions are separately documented. Do not infer a different product variant from either number alone.

Likewise, the user guide itself notes that hardware or firmware changes may create discrepancies. The source page offers Black, White, Navy Blue, Pink and Taupe with exact color-specific identifiers, but it does not settle every retailer’s accessory package, serial-level service eligibility or condition. A CPSC API search for “Q20i” and “A3004” returned empty arrays on 31 October 2026; that narrow string-screen is not clearance for a serial number, future notice, seller unit or differently named product.

Who should compare this model

The Q20i is worth shortlisting when the documented requirements are Bluetooth ANC, simple app adjustments, a second-device link or a separate analog input. Its limitations are equally specific: no ANC on AUX, no confirmed battery-free AUX mode, no published 40-hour multipoint test, and a product-page/manual Bluetooth-version disagreement. Check the selected U.S. finish and exact seller package before purchase, and use a fit/return policy to evaluate earcup coverage rather than treating the over-ear label as a fit guarantee.
