Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Does the Space Q45 keep ANC available with an AUX cable?
Yes, in a powered arrangement: the official model FAQ says to plug in AUX and press the NC button to activate noise cancelling. It does not give a cable-mode ANC runtime or establish passive power-off playback.
Explore this need in the finder →Can it keep a phone and computer connected while ANC is available?
The U.S. page and A3040 guide document two Bluetooth links with ANC. This is switching between sources, not mixing them; LDAC is unavailable in the two-device arrangement, and no Multipoint ANC runtime is published.
Explore this need in the finder →What ANC-on maximum does the manufacturer publish?
Up to 50 hours at 60% volume is the official general ANC-on rating. Soundcore does not attach that figure to LDAC, two-device Multipoint, the wired ANC route or an aged battery.
Explore this need in the finder →Is passive AUX listening after power runs out confirmed?
No. The A3040 manual confirms AUX playback but does not state that the headset plays with its power off or battery depleted. Treat passive use and the exact cable in a U.S. seller package as unknown.

The soundcore Space Q45 is a source-documented over-ear ANC headphone in the A3040 family. This assessment follows its official U.S. Black A3040011 model record and the shared A3040 user guide. It is a research-based review, not a listening test or comfort trial. When checked on 2026-10-31, soundcore’s U.S. page marked the Black, Blue and White offers out of stock; treat this as an earlier seller-reference page, not a claim about current stock elsewhere.

ANC changes with the connection route
Soundcore’s A3040 guide documents Adaptive and Custom Noise Cancelling, Transparency, and Normal mode. The U.S. page describes app adjustment with several ANC and transparency levels. Its headline reduction percentage is manufacturer marketing, not an independent measurement made here, and cannot predict the noise one person will hear through an earcup seal. Glasses, hair, head shape, fit, and the sound itself still matter.
The interesting point for a wired traveler is that this model does not treat its 3.5 mm jack as a plain passive bypass only. The A3040 manual explains AUX listening from an external source and says Bluetooth turns off when wired listening begins. Separately, soundcore’s Space Q45 FAQ says to plug in the AUX lead and press the NC button to activate noise cancelling. Taken together, the sources document a powered analog ANC arrangement. They do not publish a runtime for ANC over that cable, so the Bluetooth rating below must not be carried over to it.
The manual does not say whether AUX audio remains available when the headset is powered off or its battery is empty. I leave that behavior unresolved rather than assuming a cable jack means battery-free listening. This is a useful contrast with the soundcore Q20i, whose A3004 instructions turn ANC off on AUX, and the Q31i, whose reviewed U.S. wired arrangement also does not support ANC. Neither comparison is a noise-cancellation performance ranking.
Read 50 hours as a maximum with conditions
The A3040 manual lists up to 50 hours with ANC on and up to 65 hours with it off. Soundcore’s official FAQ gives those figures at 60% volume and says calls reduce playtime because the microphones draw more power. The manufacturer also describes a five-minute charge as providing up to four hours of listening. These are maximum specifications, not a forecast for an aged battery, a particular source, call-heavy use, higher volume, or an individual trip.
The sources do not assign the 50-hour ANC-on figure to LDAC, two-device Multipoint, or wired ANC. The manual says LDAC consumes more power and reduces playtime; it does not give a Q45 LDAC runtime. Nor does the FAQ state that its 50-hour test used both simultaneous Bluetooth links. For those arrangements, runtime remains unknown. The 50-hour figure is therefore useful as a published general ANC-on reference, not a promise that every codec or connection setup will reach it.
Multipoint and LDAC are separate choices
The U.S. page and manual document Bluetooth 5.3, AAC, SBC, LDAC, and the ability to keep two devices connected. The guide shows pairing a second source, while soundcore’s support article warns that LDAC is unavailable when Multipoint is active. That means someone switching between a computer and phone has to choose the supported standard-codec two-link arrangement rather than LDAC; the sources describe switching between sources, not mixing two streams. LDAC also requires a compatible Android source and app setup, so check the phone or tablet before treating the codec label as useful.
The product page lists 40 mm double-layer drivers and a 20 Hz–40 kHz response specification, while the manual lists a 750 mAh battery and roughly two-hour charging time. Those are maker specifications, not evidence of sound quality, call clarity, or independent measurements. The page’s 292 g figure may help narrow a shortlist, but it cannot tell you how the pads or headband will feel during a long wear.
Exact finish and package checks matter
The U.S. ProductGroup identifies Black A3040011, Blue A3040031, and White A3040021 as finishes of the same A3040 family. The product page’s specifications list “Protective Case” and “AUX” as special features, but the consulted U.S. page and guide do not provide a complete carton inventory. Do not assume a specific seller includes the case, a 3.5 mm cable, or the USB-C charging lead. Confirm the selected SKU, exact accessory list, condition, return terms, battery age, and seller’s current availability before relying on this older reference.
Three narrow U.S. CPSC name searches for A3040, Space Q45, and soundcore Space Q45 returned empty arrays in this research cycle. Those searches do not certify a serial number, a differently named notice, seller eligibility, or future recall status. No price, marketplace stock, review score, personal ownership, hands-on test, or customer-experience claim is made here.
Who should keep it on a shortlist
Space Q45 merits a closer look when the intended routine needs Bluetooth ANC, a phone-and-computer switching link, or noise cancelling during powered 3.5 mm AUX listening, and when the buyer can verify a real offer and its condition. It is a poor match if a confirmed battery-free cable mode, a specific Multipoint or LDAC runtime, a cable ANC-hour threshold, guaranteed box contents, or current manufacturer stock is essential. The practical decision is not whether one headline sounds impressive; it is whether this exact A3040 arrangement and exact seller package fit the route the buyer will actually use.
